NPO Pitch is the digital mailbox where broadcasters and producers can submit their program proposals. Since the Media Act (2016) made it possible for external producers to pitch programs directly to the NPO, this application helps NPO manage the growing stream of ideas and proposals.
A good idea for a new TV program is worth money. It must be clear who owns an idea, when it was submitted, and who processed it. The application uses an extensive workflow. This makes the process of evaluating and awarding an idea transparent for all parties involved. This transparency of the process is guaranteed by recording all steps in the work process and making them visible in a timeline.
The collaboration with Goldmund, Wyldebeast + Wunderliebe came about after GWW won the project tender. With the maximum score on the Best Value tender, NPO sees GWW as the ideal partner to execute the project.
Goldmund, Wyldebeast + Wunderliebe created a design based on the NPO house style. The design excels in simplicity and clarity and achieved an 8.7 as a 'System Usability Score' during user research. Producers, NPO staff, and broadcasters indicate that the application works very intuitively and that they also find the design of the application aesthetically very beautiful.
A new work process is always a bit of an exploration. Try, evaluate, and refine. NPO and Goldmund, Wyldebeast + Wunderliebe determined the first workflow in the system together. The system was set up in such a way that adjustments to the work process can be easily implemented in the application. Adding or removing an action is simple and quick to realize.
Goldmund, Wyldebeast + Wunderliebe provides hosting, management & support for NPO pitch. Together with NPO, we continue to develop the application. There are plenty of future plans: both to make working with NPO pitch easier, and to expand the application to, for example, radio programs and NPO digital. In short: plenty of ideas about this application full of ideas!
NPO pitch is entirely built with open source software. A Django REST framework is the basis, the frontend is built in React, and Redux is used. ElasticSearch is used for searching the database full of program proposals, and Kibana plays a role in the reports.
The NPO Pitch project is a beautiful example of how parties find each other. Without an extensive specification, NPO had a lot of confidence in the collaboration with GWW. This resulted in a custom project tailored exactly to the needs of NPO.
