At the location where the Aviation Department of the Royal Army was established in 1913, the National Military Museum stands 100 years later. An impressive building with a spectacular roof of 110 x 250 meters and 13-meter high glass exterior walls. It gives visitors a sense of space and a view of the collection pieces outside. Discover the Arsenal and wander among tanks and airplanes. Commissioned by Heijmans, the museum's operator, a website was created for the online sale of tickets.
Goldmund, Wyldebeast + Wunderliebe realized part of the website's technology. The emphasis was on the implementation of the ticketing street and the connection with Recreatex. After delivery, Goldmund, Wyldebeast + Wunderliebe manages the NMM.nl website and is responsible for its continued development. The National Military Museum website is managed by the Defense Museums Foundation.
NMM is an interesting project because of all the interfaces. Like a spider in the middle of its web, the NMM site connects Recreatex for ticket sales, Ingenico is used to process payments, and the extensive collection of photos is loaded via Adlib. For the website itself, we use Django CMS with a PostgreSQL database and Elasticsearch to enable searching on the site.
The project is a great example where different parties come together. Heijmans, Royal Defense Museums Foundation, Fabrique, and Goldmund, Wyldebeast + Wunderliebe.
